I have a table with a column called salesmanID, when I sorted this column either in ascending or descending order, it is strange that some of the id of salesmanID are not sorted. For example, some of the 0098152's records are mixed with (sorted within)0098746. Is there a way to fix it. Thanks in advance for any help.

How are you sorting the records?
What is the data type of the field that you are sorting?

The field type CAN NOT be numeric as numeric data types will not allow leading zeros as you indicated.

I converted it to numeric and all the leading zeros are removed. When it is sorted, some ids are still sorted with other ids in between.
