problem with sm56pci modem on win2k

Hi

I recently installed win2k server.the sm56 modem continuously crashes the system whenever i try to connect to it. the system begins a physical memory dump and the error message reads KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

can anybody help me
