When I reply to a message that has arrived in the inbox or a custom folder the reply gets put into the Sent items folder.I really want to know how or if I can get my replies to stay in the same folder as the original message.Im sure this can be done as ive seen it work before. Also I dont want to set up a rule to do this.Does this make any sense ?

Thanks in advance

Max

Hi Max, in 2000, this is set up in the message. Go to View - Options while in the e-mail, and there is an option of "Save Sent Messages To" and you can choose to have the Sent message go to your Inbox. I think there should be a way to set this globally, I couldn't find it quickly though. Perhaps someone else has the answer, or I'll look into it later and get back to you.

You can set this in Outlook under TOOLS - OPTIONS - EMAIL OPTIONS - ADVANCED EMAIL OPTIONS. Check the option "In folders other than the Inbox, save replies with original message" joegz
