Running windows 2000 network + Terminal server.

the NTUSER.pol file in the roaming profile seems to be replicating itself over and over until the profile is unable to load.

NTUSER.pol.temp
NTUSER.pol.temp.temp
NTUSER.pol.temp.temp.temp and so on

So many of these files are created that the roaming profile eventually will not ba able to load.

Does anyone know why I am experiencing these problems and does anyone have a solution?

I had a similar issue a while back.

It's due to the profile being unable to load the basic setup from the initial profile .. files are in use.

I had to (backup) delete the profile and start over.

Create a new user and add it to the Administrators group, login and log off. Then copy its profile to Default User as another admin. (Control Panel\System, User Profile, Copy To, overwrite d:\profile\default user and permit to use by Everyone)

After that, the problem does not occur any more. .. at least not for me.

Did you move your profile store location?

Thanks for that I will give it a bash, I was hoping I wouldn't have to recreate the profile.

I did move the location of the profiles a while ago.

Cheers
