For the past month my internet has continuesly kept having to detect proxy settings. Once in a while there's a period of 5-10 minutes where my internet works fine, but then it has to detect proxy settings again. I've checked internet options to see if the automatic detect is checked and it is, but the problem still occurs. I'm using Internet Explorer 6.0 and for my connection i'm using a linksys wireless router.

do you have a machine on your network called 'wpad.<your domain>'?
on this machine do you have a webserver with a file called 'wpad.dat'?

if you don't then you probably won't be able to do automatic configuration.

unless they've changed how they do it now :)

i dont think i have that. Is there anything else i can do to fix this?
