I have a 1 server environment running Exchange 2000 sp3 rollup and Windows 2000 SP3. I am having a problem mailing to two outside domains, yahoo.com and encore.ca (our travel agent). If I telnet to yahoo (mx1.mail.yahoo.com) I get the 220 OK and after the ehlo command I get a number of 250 messages but no 250 OK. If I try a Mail From: command I get the following,
"501 Syntax error in parameters or arguments" instead of 250 OK - mail from user@domain.com
I have tried sending to a hotmail account via telnet with no problems and all other outbound e-mails seems fine.

FYI.... Our Exchange server does sit behind a ISA 2000 server.

Does anyone have an idea of what is happening or where to begin troubleshooting. Thanks for any suggestions.

Thank-you for the post, but I do not think the ISA server has anything to do with this, as we have had this same setup for over a year. We curremtly are having problems sending to yahoo.com, yahoo.ca and rogers.com (a large Canadian cable ISP). I believe the problems involves the merging of these two companies mail systems in Canadian a couple of days ago. Since that time sending mail to either of these is hit and miss.
