We are facing a situation where our Netbackup 5.1 Server with a tape backup device/robot (running in Red hat Linux) crashed, we recreated the server,same name,same ip address.We tried recovering the NBU DB but apparently it was corrupted,it only had fewer entries than what it is supposed to have,..
so we are stuck importing images from tapes to the catalog,the thing is that we are using the gui to import to catalog and then searching the catalog and importing the images from the catalog,but when we try to restore anything from a client,it doesnt look find anything..
i got a few questions,...
does the same volume pools assigned in the already crashed server needs to be recreated in the newer server,.. do we need to create the backup policies for restoring files?,
do we need to expire all the tapes entries in catalog before importing images?
