Problem with Microsoft Management Console

I have a problem on a Windows 2000 Server, when I start the Microsoft Management Console (MMC.exe), it just maybe opens for 1 second and then shuts down or does nothing. Has anybody met this problem before ? Thanks Adrian

Ok, thanks Eric, in fact I couldn't open the event log either !! I managed to access it from another computer and found that a service had problems starting (after a server crash this morning), it was the Microsoft Search service, I changed it to manual and started up the server again, and this time the MMC worked fine... Thanks Adrian
