We have a Netware 3.12 server which has namespace added and Windows 98 PC's run fine and have no problem seeing long filename and long paths. We have just added some Windows 2000 PC's and when you look at certain directories (it looks like the longer nested dirs) in Windows Explorer there are some directory name that are truncated which under Windows 98 are fine. I remember in the distance past that there was a setting for the length of the path set some where I think in the Novell Client but I can't find it. Has anybody any ideas. We are using the 4.83 Client on the W2k PC's.

Since name space is set on, I expect that the problem is some W2K settings.

I had a possibly related problem in a popular CD burning software. It would caution me that my file system wasn't upto ISo standards (forgot the number).

So I think that it could be some setting of the file system view.

Also, the server had a MAXIMUM SUB DIRECTORY TREE DEPTH. (10 to 100, default 25).

Dunno whether this helps.
