I tried to put an image/flash movie on top of another flash movie but it turned out the top level movie alway went to the back of the background movie no matter how I changed the order of the layers. Anyone got an idea?

tks a million

did you check the z index of the layers in the porty mnager

Doesn't matter if you "put" one layer over the other, its the z index that matters.

Bigger z = on top of.

Nippi, tks for you reply. It seems you are the only one reply this message since I posted these questions a while ago.

I tried the way you mentioned but I can't find porty manager, any check box related to that or any z index. They don't even exist in Dreamweaver's help. Can you give me a bit more details about this?

Hello symbols!

There are two ways:

1) select your layer and open the Properties window (Window > Properties) and change Z-Index there (I think nippi meant properties when wrote porty);

2) select your layer and open the Layers window (Window > Layers), click into right column called Z and change Z-Index there.

Good Luck!

I meant the property manager. a typo... follow eugene's instructions. They are good

I finally found the z index but it still not work no matter how big number I changed which I intended to be the top layer, my flash movie file still stay on top. What should change to? the number or letters??? I have tried 10 for the top layer and 1 to the flash movie layer. It still happens the same. I noticed one thing very strange. Its works on the layers both are images but not on layers mixed with image and flash movie layer. Have someone tried this and worked before? Pls tell me if there's any tricks.

pls someone help help help pls
