I am trying to install an Iomega Zip 250 on an old IBM Gateway Pent II / 233 mhz and keep getting blue screen of death (stop message) regarding the PPA.sys. After searching Microsoft's knowledge base, I found out that it was a known bug and I had to have SP2 and SP3 installed to fix it. Well unfortunately I installed both service packs and still get the blue screen but now with a kmode_exception_not_handled on the ppa.sys. The version of the ppa.sys and ppa3.sys is a newer version than the versions suggested on the knowledge base and I can't find any more info on what to do.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
TurtonJ

Hello:
Might be a dumb question but do you have the Zip drive configured as the master? My experience is that Zip drives only work as masters. It's a simple fix and it might just work, Good Luck.

Well unfortunately, I cannot even boot up successfully on my PC once I plug it into the parallel port (without even installing anything). It should just be 'plug and play' with Win 2000 - at least it is with other Win 2000 installations. I can't even get Win2000 to boot successfully without the blue screen of death now.... but once I unplug it from the parallel port - Win2000 boots fine.

Thanks,
TurtonJ
