i need to install adminpak.exe on a windows 2003 server (service pack 1) that is joined in an AD Domain. Though i managed to install the pak on a windows xp machine but when i try to install it on the win2k3 server a stupid message comes "blah blah blah , computer must be windows xp or windows 2003", now obviously i am trying to install it on a windows 2003 machine and it is tell me otherwise.

Help!!!!

anyone???? why cant i install it on a windows 2003 machine while i managed to do i on an XP machine?

Well first it would help to paste the "blah blah" message in your note since it can point to the possible problem.
I'll give it a whirl though, are you trying to install the adminpak from a remote share or locally?

Install adminpak.[red]msi[/red] from the same SP version that you are using on the server.

i downloaded the proper adminpack SP1 and it works fine :) - thanks but still M/S should give a more precise error since the one is misleading:

Windows Server 2003 Administration Tools Pack can only be installed on Windows XP Professional with QFE Q329357 applied, or on Windows XP Professional Service Pack 1 or later, or on computers running Windows Server 2003 operating systems.
