I am doing the basic DW3 SCAAL Coffee tutorial. But several times when I tried to insert an image on a page, (by clicking in the area I wanted the image and then clicking on the "insert image" icon on the objects palette) I was told that the image was not in my root folder and asked if I would like to copy it to my root folder, even though the image was clearly IN the root folder - I could see it in the site window. Then, since I didn't know what else to do, I said yes, I would like to copy it to my site folder. But, of course, since it already was in the folder, I was told that an image file with the same name was already in the folder...

The only thing I could think of to do was to replace the one image with the second, which was really the first (replacing it with itself). How can I avoid these needless steps? Thanks.

Arrgh! There was an important detail that I forgot to mention in my previous posting called PROBLEM WITH IMAGES AND ROOT FOLDER. When I dragged images directly from the site window to the open document, the images appeared with no problems or warning windows.

In case you don't know what I am talking about because you didn't read my first post, I have included it below.

Hi Dreamchaser,
I am a new user of Dreamweaver and ran into the same problem when designing my site. A more experienced friend checked my design and noticed that the links section in properties box began with a "/" in front of each link. He used the replace command from edit menu to remove all (36) occurences in my case. This solved the problem. He believed the forward slash was directing the browser to search for previous page each time, causing the problem.
Regards,
tosh

I can't find the "Scaal_site folder "" in the Dreamweaver file, so I have been looking around to download it, but can't find a download. Can anyone help. Would also like to view a couple of recent sites produced from Dreamweaver.

kind regards.....BigDin
