Hi,
I have an IBM notebook computer that starts normally but after few seconds switches off and a front panel LED lights on which i don't know the meaning. The symbol of LED is a circle with a v inside.Note that i did all bios tests (before switch off) & all seem to work ok.I believe may be supply problem , but i want help about the meaning of the symbol to help me determine the problem.
Thank you very much.

I belive the sysmbol you are talking about is the Z light i have had several problems with IBM laptops where they will shut off or not boot at all and only show the Z light more times than not the CPU had to be replaced. Good Luck

Thank you very much for your responce ,but what you mean z light ,and can i find a reference in internet about these lights.

Thank you very much again.

Hi Yian, you did not say which machine, so I selected one with lights. This is a large pdf file, the user handbook and you need adobe acrobat, the lights are on page 41 and 42.
