Can anyone give me some proper guideline of how to install AVG admin(step by step)? cause after try for few times still fail to force the AVG admin to transfer AVG antivirus from server to each of the workstation.

My client using Windows Server 2003 and all the workstation is XP pro.

This is what i had done... if anything wrong pls advise...

first i install the AVG anti File Edition, next i install the AVG admin i tick all except the Graphic reports. Next i run the AVG DataCenter Setup and tick all the "setup Options" and select" Firebird Database" and Tick the "AVGbackup", "Activate update mirroring" by putting the licence number, next "Update files folder" i just assign
to the new folder where i put all my AVG setup inside. Next i put the licence Infromation and Directory of AVG installation Files. After that, i select "network type" by selecting the IP where i want to install the AVG anti virus and leave the AVG Agent as default tick "Mask Password" and leave the avgagent "Blank". After doing all the setting i press force to install. The funny thing is.. i dont know
when it complete.. didnt show me.. how many percent it complete.. and jsut say installation in progress soo should i press Quit oo leave there.. .

So i go to my workstation.. login as administrator, before that already tick the file and printer sharing as done already by the system itself. Then i go to firewall setting to see whether the avgagent been block by window firewall and i see all the AvgAgent.exe, avgcc, avginet, and avgamsvr at there because i off the firewall. But inside the AVG documentation it say need to setup port but i dont knwo what their talking about.

At the server side i put the AVG antivirus under one folder so when i do the setting at the AVG S-tool i jsut click browser where the AVG antivirus will be install to the workstation. As what the AVG documentation say. what the correct step in need to be done at server and workstation?

Pls guide me to success my installation

Regards,
david

I had the same issue, and never got it working. In the end, I installed the client from a network share on to each workstation - you could even use a batch or script to make this easier.

Once installed, it pulls updates (program and dbase) with no issues.
