im having a problem with authenticating using outlook 2002(bunndled with office XP). I cant relay through my SMTP from outside the network. I have my authentication settings all the same but for some reason when using outlook 2002 it trys to authenticate using the name of the computer. when the computer hangs on sending i check the "current Sessions" in the system manager and it says user: jonathan (the name of the computer im trying to connect with). of course since there is no user named jonathan it wont relay. The authentication settings in outlook are correct but it still trys to authenticate with the computers name instead of the given login name. any ideas on settings in outlook that will prevent this?
I'm not having any problems with earlier versions of outlook. Thanks,
Matt
