Hey all,

I recently bought an iPod. After a few teething problems, I got the thing to work, however in the process I needed to install and uninstall software more times than i can count.

All very well, but then I lost the use of my disk drives, to get them to work I did a system restore to the 29th, again, all very well, I got the use of my disk drives back, now it tells me I need to re-install iTunes and iPod.

To install it fresh, I need to uninstall the software, for some reason, windows won't let me do it.

It goes through the uninstal process (in 'add/remove programs') with the install shield, after that, the program is still there, I've re-booted and tried even downloading uninstall modules, still to no avail.

any ideas?

Best Regards

After you have run the uninstall you may have to manually remove all the remnants of the program from Windows, including the Registry.

Alternatively you may be able to "undo" the System Restore you originally performed, then try to uninstall from that configuration before again returning to the 29th restore point.

Another option is to run a registry cleaner to try and fix things.

thanks, its all sorted now.
