I have an MS Access 8.0 (Office97) program that has a form called FO-008 that I need to replace on several users computers in different locations without me being there doing it manually.

I’m trying to perform the replacement by using an external MS Access program that contains the replacement form also called FO-008. I need to keep the same form name since the form contains relationships to other forms and quarries in the program.

When I run the Macro I get the following error message “Object Invalid or no longer set”

Macro Info:
Destination Database: C:\00-Dell-Transfer\Testing\User-Mropuf20.test.mdb
New Name:
Source Object Type: Form
Source Object Name: FO-008

Can anyone help me?

Is there another way to do it?

Mike,

I rather hope there is no way to do what you wish. I would not like anyone to change one of my forms. I would recommend that you make a dummy mdb available and allow each user to bring in the form themselves. You know programming used always to be "Pull" and Uncle Bill advocated "Push." We have been pushed to death, iin my opinion. DEF: Pull - I get what I want. PUSH - someone gives me what they think I need.

Thanks for your suggestion on pulling in the new (updated) form but how are the users of the program going to do this without being able to get behind the program startup form to show the database screen when they don’t have rights to do it?

What I need is something that works like a patch/update like you get with other programs like Windows updates to fix programs without the user going behind the scenes.

I’m trying to use the macro CopyObject command when I get this error message. But when I use the same macro CopyObject command with a table, or query it works OK!
