-We are a small office that connects to an Exchange Server remotely (through a VPN).
-Someone had a problem with their workstation and I had to "repair" Windows 2000.
-Now I am trying to re-establish their connection to our remote Outlook server.
-When I try to go to Control Panel, Mail, and set up the connection to the Exchange Server (like i normally do with no problem), I get to the point where I click on the "Check Name" button and then I get the following error...
"The name could not be resolved. The Microsoft Exchange Address Book was unable to log on to the Microsoft Exchange computer."

Thanks for any help!

Can you ping the server from the machine by the DNS or IP address? joegz

Yes, I was able to ping the server. In the meantime I found this solution...

"To resolve this behavior, uninstall and then reinstall TCP/IP from the Windows 2000-based computer."...

which got me past that error but it still won't let me set up the User's mailbox on that workstation.
-Now when I click the "check name" button, I constantly get the error "login credentials supplied were incorrect" -even though I am positive the login credentials are correct.
Thanks for answering joegz!

When doing the check name are you logged on to the domain as the user for the mailbox? If you want to test further you can set NT authentication to NONE so that Outlook prompts for the credentials just to make sure what is being entered is what it is looking for.

You will find this under the Microsoft Exchange server proerties under the ADVANCED tab. joegz

Hi joegz,
i just tried selecting "none" under the advanced tab. Then I exited out of mail (in the control panel), went back in and tried it again. unfortunately no luck.
