A guy in my office has been trying to send attachments to people but they are not able to open them. After making sure he was doing it correctly, I had him e-mail me the attachment. When I tried to open it up, this is what it said:

======================================================

The document name or path is not valid. Try these suggestions:
*Check the file permissions of the document or drive.
*Use the File Open dialog box to locate the document.
(C:\Documents and Settings\...\<filename>.doc

======================================================

I did open the file he was trying to send and it opened without a hitch but it will not open up when sent as an attachment. Does anyone have a clue why this is happening?

Thanks!

Lot of unanswered questions here.
1 What E-mail client?
2 Is it a WORD doc is sending?
3 What version of WORD?
4 If using Outlook express is it set up in the security settings to accept attachments?
5 Is it only WORD docs or any attachment that won`t open?

Is he sending a .lnk file instead of a .doc file?
Possibly copying shortcut from recently accessed documents?
