I've been running office 97 on my computer and wanted to install 2000 on the same computer. I did the install the right way, but now when I open any application in 2k it loads then when you try to do anything i.e.: type, click on anything the app. shuts down, my 97 still works fine. Thank you for any help you can give. Tom

Please define "the right way".
Also, go to Technet at:
Choose Office 2000 as the product.
In the keywords, type "immediately closes".

Anne, Thank you for you reply. All I meant by the right way is I had 97 installed and when I installed 2k I saved earlier versions of office. I went to the site you gave me and with the keywords found my problem. It said "If the product CD Key begins with GC6J3, the Product Key is not valid in Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1/SR-1a" and that was my key. I got this from a local computer show, well you get what you pay for. I guess I have to get a different version. Thanks for your help. Tom
