I need to change out the upper feed roller assembly in a Phaser 840 but try as I might I am having difficulty removing the upper feed roller electric cluth at the end of the upper feed roller shaft. This would be step 4 in the disassembly instructions for the upper feed roller assembly.

Previous units that I've worked with had a "C" clamp retaining the clutch but this one is unique. Even under strong light I can't detect a clamp. How in the heck is the clutch attached/retained to the shaft?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Some early model printers had clutchs that had self locking tabs on them in teh center. Look for a small tab near around the shaft and use a thumbnail or small screw driver to lift up on as you slide it out. These proved to be a problem and they were done away with not long after the model was announced.

Thanks Marty5261. Am on my way now, I really do appreciate the response.
