I have finally finished my first vb.net project (VS2008) and runs all fine on the pc i have developed it on using data from a central mssql database, local access database & uses datarepeaters.

However when i publish it and try installing on another pc it comes up with the message

Unable to install or run the application. The application requires that assembly Microsoft.VisualBasic.PowerPacks.VsVersion 9.0.0.0 be installed in the Global Assembly Cache (GAC) first.

Please contact your system administrator.

All the 3.5 .net framework seems to be installed & i have installed the VisualBasic Power Packs 3.0 (file version 9.0.30214.0) on the other pc with no joy

Any ideas anyone? I have had a look around the net but no obvious solution has presented itself as yet

i think i have found the answer from the microsoft support site - project - properties - build - prerequisites then add in all the resoures - cant see why it cant work it out for itself

in the middle of down loading .net framework 3.5 sp1 just in case it wants that as well (its already on my development machine)

after a fraught couple of hours i managed to get the app working on the second machine - despite .net 3.5 framework sp1 refusing to finish & 2 versions of the power packs clashing with each other

Even the datarepeaters work and the app seems to work ok - will work out the best way to install for future machines
