Hi there, i'm developing an application for POS with visual foxpro but i have a little problem printing the tickets, it seems that when the ticket is too long, the application separates it in 2 pieces, and does the total calculation wrong. What can i do to fix this problem? is it the printer driver? I already deleted the expr, tag1 and tag2 fields in the report.

thanks for you help.

grojas,

You'll need to setup your report so it's printing area is "whole page" and make sure you're calculations are setup so that they reset either at the end of a group (if you have one for this) or at the end of the page.

Thanks for your answer, i did the whole page thing, but i think what is happening is that there is something that makes the report print in 2 pages.. there for it prints the header twice, etc. and cuts the paper aprox. the size of an A4.

you can set up a custom page size for the report and as for the pageheader...I would move that information to the Title band and the same goes for the page footer, any information there should be moved to the summary band...This is assuming that it is only printing one ticket at a time. Another suggestion if you are printing multiple tickets at a time would be to reset the page counter (_pageno) so that you can then use Print When expressions to keep the Page Header and Page Footer from printing on subsequent pages.

I've tried to set up a custom page but it doesn't seem to work, maybe i'm doing something wrong.. can it be the printer driver?? can u explain how to do it pls?

thanks

Version 3 of Visual Foxpro had a driver error for generic printers that would not allow it to print on continuous forms.

I have seen the need to be very careful when setting up printer specs for dealing with continuous forms.

grojas,

Do a Keyword Search on this forum for how to set up a custom page size for your repot...it's not always available. You should get back a number of threads that detail how to do it in one of the posts as well as when it is not available. However, if you have already done so then I think your problem may be that you are removing all the FRX information regarding the printer from your FRX files, which in this case would get rid of the information you have set up concerning the page.

grojas,

Try using LABEL forms (LBX) instead of REPORT forms (FRX) for printing in continuous papers.
