I have several reports that some users want to print to dot matrix printers. When they use the report that I have created using a laser printer as the default, the report prints fine, but it always changes the dot matrix printer to Letter Quality and takes forever to print. I have created separate copies of these reports with various dot matrix printers as the default, even the Generic Text printer. The same thing happens when the job prints, it forces the printed text to Letter Quality. I have tried sending the report to an ASCII file and then print the ASCII file, but the formatting is jumbled, some values are round to integers, and various other problems. Is there a better solution?

"I have several reports..."

If you have built or modified your reports in VFP's Report Designer then it will save the Printer settings within the Report Form's table.

USE <MyFRXFile>
BROWSE

Within Record #1 ONLY
Go into the following Memo fields and totally empty them out.
Expr
Tag
Tag2

Then close the Report's data table.

See if that resolves your problems.

Good Luck,

That did it, thank you so much!
