problem opening qbasic

Has anyone run into this error message before or know how to solve the problem?

"C:\QBASIC\QBASIC.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application. (2 choices: close and ignore)"

I am using a Windows XP machine.

Error message when you install or start an MS-DOS or 16-bit Windows-based program

Somehow you have corrupted one or more of three files. The KB article above discusses this and how to repair it manually using the WinXP CD.

Yes, you are missing a i386 file.

this will tell you how to restore it, you have to have your XP CD.
