Hi,

I have today come across a problem where one of our users cannot open more than two workbooks within a single instance of Excel 2000.

If she has 3 instances of Excel running it opens them all fine.

Question now is how do I force Excel to open each workbook in a new instance of excel when I double click from Windows Explorer? I have come across this before but cannot for the life of me remember how to do it.

Many thanks in advance

Steve

They're not new instances.
It's called "windows in taskbar" and it's under Tools-Options, View tab.

If it's checked, you'll get one "button" in the taskbar for each open XL file. If it's NOT checked, you get ONE button and must use the Window menu of Excel to switch between files.
