Hello,

I'm having a problem mapping a HP3380 at remote office. In the head office, there's a HP3330 that's connected to a JetDirect Printserver. The server is a Windows 2003 Standard with Citrix Presentation server installed. All of this is behind a Cisco Pix 501. The remote office has a HP3380 (a newer model) that is also connect to a JetDirect. There's also a Cisco Pix 501 in the remote office. Now when the remote employees connect to Citrix, the HP3380 is not mapped at all. There's not even any entries in the event logs showing any attempts to mapping the printer. We have the latest drivers installed on the citrix server and the same are installed on the remote employee's workstation. Any ideas why ?

Thanks
anthony

Here's a little update : My printer maps fine when I connect using Remote Desktop Connection however when I try using Citrix with the same user account on the same server, there's no mapping...

Don't know if this will help, but recently added a JetDirect to remote office through a VPN connection. I could only ping the device and nothing else. I discovered that the JetDirect uses many different ports for different protocals. A friend sent me a list of these ports to open on our VPN. If you think this might be your problem let me know and I can forward his email. - Paul

Hi Dande,

Yes please send me the list... I'll give it a try.

Thanks

For those who read this thread... I have finally solved the problem. I'm running Citrix Presentation Server XP1 Feature Release 0 with SP3 on Windows 2003 Server. In order to get the auto creating printers to work you either have to download Feature Release 3 license or install a hotfix from Citrix. The problem is detailed in document CTX681954 from Citrix. You may download the hotfix here :
. Here's the link to the document explaining the fixes :
Now, I'm just having little problems with print spooler that crashes from time to time...
