Hi,

I have an application which I need to roll out to quite a few client PC's (all running Windows 2000 Pro).

I have created an MSI installation application using Wininstle and placed it on a network share.

When I create a group policy object (Windows 2000 AD) to install the application I get the following error message:

The size of this object exceeds the maximum size set by the Administrator.

Now I am the administrator and dont remember setting a maximum size. The msi file is 1.57mb with a couple of extra files generated the total not exceeding 4mb.

Any ideas?

Many thanks in advance.

Steve

Is this when you create the GPO or when you attach the MSI to the GPO?

Are there any errors gererated in the even log?

Hi,

Its when I attempt to attach the msi to the gpo.

There are no errors in the event log.

Cheers

Steve

Are you using WinInstall from the 2k server CD?

I've had this problem with that version before and recreating the MSI solved the problem, failing that the 2003 version from the OnDemand web site seems to create better MSI's.

Thanks porkchop,

I am using the create from the server CD yes. I will try the 2003 option.

Cheers
