problem installing platform builder

Hi everybody,

I've downloaded the eval version of Platform builder 5.0
I am using windows XP (prof) with service pack 2. When I am trying to install the platform builder the following message pops up:

"This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installer package."

The .NET framework 1.1 is installed in my computer. Can anybody tell me what is the problem?

I had the same problem on the first time too. I've just downloaded the install a second time, and it worked. (can't say why)
but it took Two days to install... you'll have to be patient

Thank you for your answer.

I solved the problem by uninstalling service pack 2 of WinXP and use only service pack 1.

Interesting, these should not be the way of installing an application.
