When installing windows XP in freezes in the middle of the installation.
It happens when the tool bar is on the middle and there are 35 left.
The entire PC freezes.
What can be the cause?

The PC details are:

P-4 2.3 Giga
Memory: 256 Mega
Hard disk: 114 Giga (I tried to install it on NTFS and FAT with space size of 30 Giga).

Thanks

RC

I had a similar issue a while ago (thread779-765660).
It turns out that the problem was more or less mainboard-related, although I have not been able to get confirmation on that.
I did replace the mainboard, and then the install went through without any problem.

Pascal.

I just went through that, check your cables and ide selections, master slave setting and if the xp disk is clean , also verify that the bios recognizes the hd as 114gig and didnt use some default setting if it configs itself
