Hi,

Recently I have installed Win2000 Professional. I have a problem with USB. My system is not able to detect USB (SiS 7001 PCI to USB). I deleted this device and reinstalled it again. It works fine. But when I restart the computer, it failes to detect the USB. Again I have to reinstall it. Can some one help me solve the problem.

Thanks,

Ensure that it is in fact the 2000 driver. Sometimes the NT or older drivers won't stick because of 2k's .dll caching.

Windows 2000 will allow you to make changes to system .DLL files, however, if you do not have the correct privelages, or the driver is wrong, or corrupt....ect... 2000, on the next boot up WILL REPLACE the existing.

Also, check device manager and ensure that there is no problems with the USB Root Hub...

chao. Let me know.
