Problem editing DTS Packages

Hello ALL!
Whenever I try to view the Properties of a Workflow step on some DTS packages, EM crashes. I found this error on Event Viewer:
App: E 'Tue Jan 07 15:21:54 2003': SQLSERVERAGENT - " Unable to read local eventlog (reason: The data area passed to a system call is too small). "

The DTS packages that I'm trying to edit are scheduled as jobs and are running fine.

Any idea why I can't edit the workflow steps?

check the Service pack version of the client where you are opening the package and also the server's sp version.

select @@version returns:
Microsoft SQL Server 2000 - 8.00.534 (Intel X86) Nov 19 2001 13:23:50 Copyright (c) 1988-2000 Microsoft Corporation Enterprise Edition on Windows NT 5.0 (Build 2195: Service Pack 2)

and EM version is:
Microsoft Management Console 1.2
Version 5.0 (Build 2195: Service Pack 2)

Notes:
-The last day that I was able to edit these dts packages was 11/02/2002.
-EM crashed with a mmc.exe illegal operation error.
