Hello all,

My company is attempting to creat an interface between Great Plains and our own management software and as the admin of the network here the task of setting up Great Plains for QA testing has fallen to me. I will admit I know nearly nothing about this software but after a few days of playing around with it I seem to have it up and running but the only user I or anyone else can log in as is the sa user on the server. I would like to create some additional logins but every educated guess I have made so far toward doing this has been fruitless and I seem to be chasing my tail at this point. If anyone could give me the correct procedure for creating new logins I would appreciate the help. Thank you in advance.

Ahhhh....much better, I was trying the add the users and control the access in the SQL enterprise manager and then Great Plains. Thanks for the help.

Please note that if the users' password is set in Great Plains it will be encrypted and cannot work with an external application.

There is 3rd party addon which will allow the password to stored without the encryption, which is handy if you do need access from external apps, but does weaken the security.

The idea of the encryption is that only the Great Plains application can access the database and once inside Great Plains you are restricted by the application's internal security system.
