Problem creating LV on VG

I am trying to create a LV on a VG, and i keep getting a

0516-360 getlvname: The device name is already used; choose a
different name.
0516-822 mklv: Unable to create logical volume.


Not sure, how I can fix that....

I have 3000 PPs free on this VG, and my LV is going to be 100PPs.

Any advice?

Can you lets us know what command you are using? smit or command line.

The error message indicates you are trying to name the LV with an already existing name. Pick a different name for the LV.

Hi,

Another LV with the same name already exists on the system.
Try giving another LV name or delete the old one if it has no reason to exist.

lslv lvname # to see the existing one

It doesn't matter what VG the LV already exists in, LV names have to be unique to the whole system...
