Problem connecting. Out of memory

I'm get to access postgreSQL through a client in windows 98 through ODBC (plsqlodbc) and using C++ builder. The problem is that the system (I think the server, but I'm not sure) runs out of memory with a database of 60.000 registers. This problem doesn't happen if the database has less size.

It happens too importing from Access. Du you have a solution for this problem?.
