I used Microsoft's HTML Help Workshop to create a help file with a TOC and Index and 4 simple pages. I compiled it and tested it, and it works fine, however when I assign it to my VB project in the "properties" dialog box and run it from my compiled program, it displays the following error message:

The <path>\help\vc2help.chm file is not a Windows Help file, or the file is corrupted.

I'm running VB6 and used HHW 4.74 (newest version). Anyone have any ideas? I am calling it from the Help>Contents menu.

Hi Jim

We have same problem actually, I also encountered this error

<<file is not a Windows Help file, or the file is corrupted.>>

Have you ever got a solution on this? could you share it to me I would be so much glad.

Thanks,

Good is not better if not than best...

Windows Help file = *.hlp , and not *.chm. Two different things.

Yes I found the solution but I have to look at it again to see what I did... I should have the answer posted here in the next 24 hrs.
