ok well I already have a dc the dns name of my domain is "the.darkside" the computer name of this machine is "sith.the.darkside" . I'm trying to make my other machine which runs win2k server a dc also...its name is "kamino" so I made kamino join the domain no problem. I pointed the dns in tcp/ip to the pdc ... however I go through to install ad and then I get the error " failed finding a suitable domain controller for the domain the.darkside, the specific domain does not exist or could not be contacted... any help would be great Im kinda lost at this point. thanks

problem adding second dc.

ok well I figured it out and I will post the solution in case anyone else has this problem... I took both servers off dhcp and statically assigned their addresses then I went into the first dc and set it to look at itself for dns.. I then went on the new dc and had it look to the first dc for its dns info... I think disjoined the new dc from the domain and re-added it .. it then allowed me to add the other dc.
