I believe I am having a privilege problem here. I set up a database on a server through my account. I am able through my user account to administer the database within Enterprise Manager. However, I want to hand off user administration tasks to somebody else. The problem is that when he goes into Enterprise Manager and tries to list the database servers out, he does not see the database I set up. I swear I've given him just about every privilege in the world. Why can't he see it?

What users do you have for that database. dbo, built-ins etc? JHall

Did you register the database server you want him to see in his copy of Enterprise Manager.

The dbo user is there as well as the other domain users I added.

We are basically using the same physical machine. I can administer the server from my account. If I log out and he logs in to his network account then he can not see the server. How do I register the server with his account?

In Enterprise Manager, right click on the sql server group and you will see "new sql server registration" and it will walk you through the process.

I believe I did that and I think it comes up with a list of available server. However, my server doesn't appear. Is there some privilege that has to be granted to him in orde for him to see the servers?

I am not sure, but it is probably the permissions on your server. Is his account on your server a member of the Administrators group and does he have users rights to log on as a service?
