Private Line dialing delay? Long pause as it passes the DTMF out?

Hi guys, I'm still a little green with the Nortel/Avaya CS1000E and its SMGs but I did a quick search and found nothing in regards to this issue.

I have set up some Model 1140E IP phones in a leased office space and they brought in their own loop start POTS lines. I set them up as private lines.

I tested my programming before they started and although it functioned, I did notice a slight delay when I accessed the PVR key as it gets the POTS line dial tone (I'm assuming it's not simulated right?) but as I dial my external number the SMG/MG1000E COT pauses with maybe 3 seconds of silence before I hear receive ring tone from the carrier.
Now the lease space tenants are complaining that there is something wrong with the phones.

I believe that they are pressing the line key and immediately dialing their 10 digit number (before they even get the initial dial tone) and the first digit is not being caught and it goes out incorrectly.

So my questions are;
When you select the PVR key, is it true dial tone from the carrier that you hear or simulated dial tone from the PBX?

Is there a way to make the out dialing more "cut through" as in other systems where the user is actually pumping the dtmf tones directly through to the carrier?
Is the MG1000 waiting for all 10 digits before it passes the converted dtmf tones?
Is there maybe a start supervision issue?

Thanks

ok stupid question but did you program dtn in the cls for the trunk? I know i have forgotten to do that and you get the delay as you are pulsing out the phone number

Oh my god. Thanks Monkey101... I just assumed DTN was default. Well I feel dumb now. Thanks again Monkey101. Is there an embarrassed emoticon? Haha
