When I run a player such as Realplay, the sound is intermittantly slowed. If I increase the priority in Task Manager it provides a great improvement. When the song is over it reverts to normal. Does anybody know where the default is established/if it can be changed? I have looked in Registry and couldn't spot it, but don't really know what I'm looking for.
I'm running an Athlon 1.7, in WinXP, SP1, with 512M, 80G, though I don't think that's relevant.
Have searched M'soft and several others to no avail.
Any clues will be appreciated, as I like to listen to music and typically run several tasks.

Thanks Linney,2thumbsup
The first one looks good, but I am saving all three to check out.
