I am having a problem with my Quark XPress 4.1 It just started today. I will draw a picture box, or paste a .pdf or .tif that is , say 3.5 inches wide by 4.75 inches tall (a quarte page ad). When it prints, it is only 3.25 by 4.25 or so. It says it is right on the screen, but it isn't when it prints! It is only doing this on one of our computers, but clearly I need to figure out why. Any ideas?

Check page setup - is the Quark Printer setup set to a different paper size than the printer contains? Like A4 to Letter?

That's a good idea, but doesn't seem to be the problem. The problem is (unfortunately) intermittent. Do you have other ideas along those same lines?

Does your page print at a smaller size, or is it cropped? Have you tried centering your document on the page, or turning Manual Tiling off?

Hi Elizabeth

These are shots in the dark if it is an intermittent problem.

1 Drag Quark preferences to the desktop and start or restart Quark. Test the same documents that are giving you problems.
There is a good chance set of print prefrences have been saved for the original document and the files that are giving problems are template docs or "save-as" docs. You will have to reset all your Quark preferences if this IS the problem.

2 Check "page set-up"(?) though I would guess you have already done this.

3 Laser prints of quark docs have sometimes been a little out as far as print size is concerned but not as much as the numbers you give.

Whatever happens (especially of you find a cure) please leave details on this forum.
