I have two parallel cards in my pc. I have a Zebra P310 Card printer connected to the original parallel card and a Epson TM-U220 Receipt printer connected to a second PCI parallel card. When I am printing on the card printer for instance and then go to ring a item up and print a receipt, the receipt printer feeds a lot of paper and then prints and feeds a lot and so on. When it is printing sometimes it prints what is printing on the card and then some of the propper information as well.

Is there a way you can make it where there is a delay if one printer is printing or where both printers can print at the same time without interference?

I have also networked the card printer through a print server and I get the same results when trying the above. So it is not so much the parallel cards but I think they way the ports might be configured. Can someone help?

Suspect more that it is the way your software is configured to use printers.
Might help with more info about OS and application software.

I am using windows XP Pro. These printers are using a custom piece of software developed in VB by lightwirestudios.com .

There is a point of sale forum and a VB forum. For the most part most POS systems utilize the zebra printers for printing barcodes for either shelf tags or product and the u220 for receipts with each being controlled by a different software. The POS software will have the 220 as its default and the zebra will be the default within the barcoding software. Maybe you could be more specific on what you are trying to accomplish, but if it is code level setup you may want to consider the vb forum.

I have had a custom piece of software developed that makes a membership card and then prints it using a Zebra P310 Card Printer and then the software is also a POS system that rings up items via barcode and prints to the Epson TM-U220 for the receipt.

If I am printing a membership card and then go to the PPOS screen to ring up a sale and then print a receipt, the problem mentioned above happens.
