I have just finished formatting and reinstalling Windows 98 SE on a Gateway G6-300, with 314 Megs. of Ram. I have followed several suggestions in optimizing the system found in the Windows 95/98 Forum and I've upgraded all of the drivers from the Gateway support center and Windows Update site. However, we can no longer print from IE. I've checked Microsofts web site for any information and I've tried to search this site for any possible answers but I can't seem to find any relevant information. One other problem was that on the Windows update site it shows a critical update for Windows 98 SE and I select it and start the download and click on the accept button and it just goes away and doesn't download or install. I don't think this problem is related to the printing problem but I added this just in case it might have some relevance to the problem that I'm encountering. Also, for information, I can print from other programs and when I go to file, page setup, than printer in shows the Lexmark X73. I hope this question hasn't been asked before but I would sure appreciate any advice on fixing this problem.
Thank You,
Cliff

What happens when you print? Also, have you tried printing using both the print button, and File>Print?

Matt,
I've tried both the print button and the file/print command. When I do select either one and click on it nothing happens. The printer doesn't show up and there are no error messages. It just doesn't seem to send the command. I also have McAfee Virus Scan 7.0/With Firewall running. I have configured the Firewall to allow IE and the printer to always have access.
Thanks

Sounds like a browser issue. Try reinstalling IE.

Another test is to install one of the Netscape 4.x browsers, if it prints fine there, then you're looking at the IE browser.
