Hi,
I am having a strange problem with reports. When printing a report that is more than 1 page, the printer prints the first page and then stops. If the report is one page only, it prints only part of the page and then stops. Any ideas what could be wrong?
The problem occurs in both Win95 and also on Win2K.
I am using VFP6 with Service Pack 5.

Thanks,

Phita.

Are you using the DO REPORT command, or are you printing the lines yourself? If the latter, make sure you SET PRINTER TO to release the printjob to the printer at the end of your report.

I am using REPORT FORM...
The strange thing is that this problem is only occuring in some computers and not on others. On my developer computer, the reports print okay, but on two clients, one running Win95 and the other running Win2K, the problem occurs. All the other clients have no problem at all.

Thanks, Phita.

Phita,
I guess this may be a case of printer drivers. Are the malfunctioning systems printing to a different printer (type) than the one the report was designed on? Do you clear the report header information? (See "How to hack FRX file to strip printer driver information" faq184-581.)

Is the printer in question an HP? Have you tried updating or downgrading these printer drivers?

On W2K, have you checked the event logs? Was there any error reported at this time?

2 options

1)Maybe there is a printer with multiple drawers?
Then, if you are sending multiple reportfroms, it could stop after the first report because there is no drawer mentioned

or

2) there is a general issue on this with some HP printers.
Even the system could entirely hang after first page, check HP for this...

(Sorry 'bout my poor English)

Hi Krit,
Infact you are right. It was a driver problem. I was using an Epson LQ-2170. I uninstalled the printer and installed again and the problem was gone!
Thanks for your suggestions.

Phita.
