Hope im in the right forum, but point me to the right path if neccessary...

We have a particular SUN computer that is not able to print to a IKON printer, and a standard lazer printer. The machine had been moved from another location however, but the switch info did not change, and the cabling is new in this area. Because it was coming from this same closet, the switch nor the ports have changed. The only changes are the machines now run on new cabling. The user also stated that it will seem to spool the job but will not print out, along with no error messages to give us a clue. Other SUN user can print to these printers, and this user was able to print ot these printers before the relocation. Please help.

I need to add, the machine is working as normal with other network resources and internet.

As root, enter command lpc... This is an old version of lpstat but it works quite well.. You will see a prompt "lpc>"... You can enter "help" to get the commands you can use... For now, the command "stat <printer> should tell you if the ready for printing and if the printer status is enabled. If there are print jobs that are hung up in the print queue, that could stop you from printing... You can use the lpc command "clear <printer>". To end the lpc session, enter "exit".
