One of my users has a word document and on the main face of the document it looks fine but in print preview there is the word (private) next to the title of the page and it also prints out like that as well. Any help would be great. Thanks

Hi mathmatik,

It's possibly some Hidden Text.

There are two options under Tools > Options:
[ul][li]One on the View Tab which controls whether or not Hidden Text is displayed when viewing / editing[/li]
[li]The other on the Print Tab which controls whether or not Hidden Text is printed[/li][/ul]

The Show/Hide Button (the paragraph mark icon) on the Standard Toolbar will also make Hidden Text visible.

Of course, whoever created the document may well have done this deliberately and not want it erased.

Enjoy,
Tony

mathmatik, if you think Tony has been off some help (and he always is!!) then reward him by clicking the Thank TonyJollans for this valuable post! link.

This is also quite common with file conversions from another word processor. If Word can not make a full conversion, and it has something (anything!) that it does not quite understand, it then creates a {PRIVATE} custom field type to hold that.

WordPerfect conversions often have these, or used to. It may be better now.
