hi all,

I had a process running that printed htm documents, it popped the doc in an ie window, prints then moves on.

I then re-created this as a windows service so it would run regardless.... now the prints don't work...

Is there a way to get this working, or another way to print via windows service?

Cheers

it works on my machine, so technically i win!

When you installed the service, did you check the box to allow it to interact with the desktop?

I used to rock and roll every night and party every day. Then it was every other day. Now I'm lucky if I can find 30 minutes a week in which to get funky. - Homer Simpson

Oops, found a work around, well a temp one anyway.

Took the printing out of the service as i installed it as code so didn't set that variable, have since changed the setting but couldn't play ball as i need the service running when the server isn't logged in, not sure if this was what was crippling me, or if its the way i'm printing the html file!

My work around... we already have a machine that runs scripts for some of the legacy work that i haven't got round to bringing into the new processes, so set a repeating program on there to print the docs off!!

Cheers for the tip, but as i say, didn't want to work for me!!

thank you
