Here we go the long version;
Problem
We have 3 domains (set before I got here)
We have a VPN connection between all three domains.
1 domain test.local is a 2003 domain.
2 domains test1.local and test2.local are 2000 domains.
We have one main office...test.local that terminal services into both test1.local and test2.local.
We needed to replace the terminal server in test1.local.
Everything is going fine...except printing.
We have a custom app that prints to \\testdomaincontroller\printer (testdomaincontroller is the name of the print server) dot matrix printer. However when we try to print it cannot seem to find the printer.
What has been done.
I have looked at what was working before and it makes no sense. The user logs in and had to put their test.local password. What I don't understand is that even though it is a seperate account it is getting a username and password from \\corp\username. We have no server by that name nor is there any domain by that name. So I need to change this process to that everyone can print to this printer.
I thought I have set up Trusts within this domain however if I try to verify it cannot find the domain controller. When I try to browse through my network places from the 2003 DC I can freely connect to test1.local and test2.local with no issues....but when I go from test1.local and test2.local I can connect to the domain but I can't connect to the domain controller to which the dot matrix printer is supplied.
I'm sorry if this is too long...I am just getting really fustrated with this.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
