Printing Errors

I have Acrobat 5.0 installed on a windows 2000 machine, when you open acrobat then open a document and try and print an error message is displayed AcroRd.exe has generated errors and will be shut down by windows, if I just open up the pdf document from where it is it will print fine.
Any suggestions more than welcome.
